Design-informed wildfire risk reviews are focused on defensible space, plant structure and composition, and ignition pathways — without unnecessary clearing.
These consultations provide a focused evaluation of wildfire risk around the home and practical recommendations for defensible space and fire-adapted landscape management.
Unlike many wildfire inspections that focus only on vegetation removal, these consultations consider how landscape design, plant selection, and long-term maintenance can reduce wildfire risk while maintaining attractive and functional landscapes.
This approach reflects Kevin’s background as a landscape architect and Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist.
If you live west of Fort Collins or Loveland, wildfire exposure is part of the landscape.
Many homeowners are unsure:
• What truly poses ignition risk
• How to reduce exposure without stripping vegetation
• How landscape design affects vulnerability
• How to prioritize improvements
This consultation provides clarity.
Each Wildfire Risk & Landscape Strategy Consultation includes:
• 60-minute on-site evaluation
• Immediate Zone (0–5’) review
• Intermediate Zone (5–30’) vegetation and fuel structure assessment
• Structural interface observations (decks, fences, other attachments)
• Site photos
• PDF summary report
• Prioritized action list (High / Medium / Optional)
This service emphasizes:
• Vegetation structure and spacing
• Selective pruning and removal
• Material transitions at the home interface
• Practical, phased improvements
• Preservation of ecological and scenic values
In some cases, property owners choose to move beyond a consultation and develop a more detailed mitigation or landscape plan. Radiant Studio and Confluent Design offer additional services including:
• detailed vegetation management plans
• wildfire-resilient landscape design
• planting plans using low-flammability species
• coordination with HOA or neighborhood mitigation efforts
These services are offered separately through Radiant Studio and Confluent Design.
